Mixtapes

Since 2006, DJ H. Blendz (formerly DJ Gunz) has put out over 20 themed mix cds, 6 of which are full-length remix showcases that feature crazy hip-hop, reggae, and r&b blends, earning him the title of "THE Remix kID". A slew of remix videos followed, earning him a modest following through youtube. Late in 2008, he broke through to FM radio, with his "So Special" blend featuring Mavado over Jay Z's "Jockin Jay Z" getting mixshow spins from Hot 97 djs and NYC club djs alike. Later came the Elephant Man's 'Nuh Linga' over DJ Webstar's "Dancin' On Me" blend, which caught fire early Spring 2009.

DJ Steve Gee

DJ Steve Gee

Past

Steve's first real introduction to music began with his first keyboard at 8yr of age..by the time he was 9 Steve decided to try something that would change his life entirely... he sat and pondered for a moment and realized what he was about to do was worth a try. . At that moment he handled his moms Beatles original pressing, then applied the needle to the wax… and started to scratch. That secured his future.

As time went on Steve continued to be unfocused… knowing what he wanted to do and what he was doing were two different things. Trials and tribulations circled Steve from birth until he decided to take life seriously. It was through those times of trial that his mother and grandmother taught him patience & gave him the street knowledge to teach him the importance of providing for times of harsh reality. It would be the art of hustling and working hard which would create a balance to make hard work easy. By the age of 10, Steve had become a young entrepreneur, learning how to money for himself , by the time he was 17 his grandmother bought him 1 turntable and mixer, then told him he had to buy the other turntable. This was the easy part, he had the tools but didn't know how to use them. The next few years competing in DMC & other competitions, working the streets promoting others', then himself, , organizing, forming contacts all over the world and travelling along with the undying support of his Mom & Grandmother gave him the foundation to step it up to the next level.

Present

Steve pounds the ground as part of The Brooklyn Collectiv Djs, and Absolut Experience Remix Kingz…Giving people Scratching, Juggling, Mixing, and Directions with his clear and distinctive voice it displays a hungry, dominant, crowd fulfilling Entertainer. Steve Sweats, and Stresses to give the crowd something they have never had. You can hear him Yelling " This Is Official Grind Time Right HERE", or the patented "I grind daily" and "we stay on the grind". When you hear his voice, it commands reaction. His role in Brooklyn Collectiv Djs is simple. Make a statement in a sophisticated and professional way to encourage people to follow the movement of something extraordinary and different.

Working Clubs, Mixtapes, Opening for Djs/Rappers, Blends and Remixes and producing, Steve Gee has become a force, and a presence and works to make sure he stays relevant. He's honest… straight forward and doesn't stop, his dedication and countless hours in the studio makes him who he is today. For the kid that used to pray first for the bad, the gritty, the most difficult times in the river that flows and feeds on pain. has come a mature, fully accepting, open minded guy appreciative of what's given to him and the path he's made. The last time is always as good as the first.

Trigga Bashment

DJ Trigga BashmentTrigga Bashment was the imprint given to me by my good friend DJ H. Blendz (formerly known as DJ Gunz Out) of the Absolut Experience sound system, once known as Terra Firma Movements. Absolut Experience sound, which I co-founded with H. Blendz in 2003, was the school of hard knocks where I learned how to creatively and intelligently select music of various genres ex: Reggae, Conscious Roots, Hip Hop, R&B, Soca and Old School etc. As a result become a self reliant vibes machine selector and learning the art of selecting music which was modeled after the Jamaican sound systems which started in the 60s and 70s in Jamaica, West Indies.

I originally started selecting music in 1998 shortly after high school but the year 2003 marks the year in which I became an official selector, in my opinion. My influences that made me really become a part of this great art form are hip hop DJs and reggae sound systems ambassadors that really have paved the way for selectors like myself. Hip Hop DJs like Funk Master Flex, Mr. Cee, DJ Red Alert and Ron G. as well as sound systems like David Rodigan, Downbeat the ruler, Killamanjaro, Stone Love and Massive B sound are the ambassadors that kept me intrigue and pretty much made up my mind that I wanted to not only just play music but do it with grace. My goal is to leave my mark as a great selector and to influence young up and coming selectors the way my influences did me and to keep the art going strong.

Currently, I am in the Brooklyn Collectiv Studios working on my "Best Of the 90's" Reggae/ Dancehall Volumes 2 and 3 CD series. Its scheduled release date is early 2009. So look out for that!!! Volume 1 is currently on my myspace page for download. Catch me playing various events such as clubs, weddings etc... As I provide the info on which clubs I will playing in the future as well as updates on different ventures I will be participating in. Being on the Brooklyn Collectiv team has been a great privilege to showcase and promote myself as a DJ as well as be a vital part of the movement that Brooklyn Collectiv is bringing to the world.
